- A preliminary investigation of Biodiversity in Palestine: (problems and
prospects): This study summarizes the current status of biological diversity
in Palestine, its components, causes of degradation and prospect for future
conservation and sustainable utilization. PIALES, November 1996/7. Hebron.
- Combating Desertification in the Palestinian, Jordan Valley: An approach
towards sustainable development: This project/ publication is an INCD joint
study that aims at studying Desertification in the Palestinian Jordan Valley
(Jericho subdistrict). This study included collection of all sources of
information that are related to arid land degradation in the region and
put forward plans and strategies to control them. 1996-1997 Hebron.
- Biological Treatment of Sewage Water by Duckweed: a pilot study
on the reuse of sewage water after purification using Duckweed (Lemna Gibba)
in irrigation. The project design has already been prepared and in the process
of implementation at El-Aroub School for Agriculture. Along these lines,
PEnA has conducted a survey about the wastewater treatment and reuse
in order to generate future plans and projects intended to be implemented
for agricultural purposes.
- "Rangeland Management and Development in the Eastern
Slopes after a millennia of degradation":
is a Status Report about the biomass and Capacity of Rangeland Resources
in the Eastern Slopes and discussing the threats of degradation in conjunction
with means to alleviate these threats.1997 (in progress), Hebron.
- Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan in Palestine: (in progress). Five
Technical Working Groups are under way to present assessment reports on
Terrestrial Biodiversity, Marine and Fresh Water Biodiversity, Agricultural
Biodiversity, Socio-economy, and Legislation. These reports are expected
to be completed by February 1998.
